The Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations 2002 (CAWR) Regulation 4 implemented May 2004 states that if you own, manage, occupy, or are responsible for a non-domestic premises, then you have a legal duty to manage the risk from any suspected Asbestos Containing Materials (ACM’s).

 

There are 3 types of survey:

Type 1 (Presumptive Survey)


Type 2 (Sampling Survey)


Type 3 (Pre-Demolition/Major Refurbishment Survey)


 

 

All Surveys and Sampling techniques for suspect ACM’s are carried out in accordance with the strict guidelines and stringent standards laid down by the Health and Safety Executive’s ‘MDHS100’ (Methods for the Determination of Hazardous Substances).

It is possible that on certain premises a mixture of Survey types will be appropriate.

 

 
 

 

 

All Surveyors are BOHS P402 qualified, accredited by the British Occupational Hygiene Society, to carry out all types of asbestos surveys.

 

On completion of your survey you will receive a bound full colour report that will form the basis for your ‘Duty to Manage Asbestos’ in compliance with the new regulations.
